Free Child Care Offered for Summer

This summer, the Orange Coast College Children’s Center will begin offering evening child care for the first time in its nearly 30-year history.
The new evening program will run from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning June 1. The extended hours will be available to 48 children from ages 2 1/2 to 12.
A survey found that student parents favored evening hours, but with more variety than day programs.
“Parents tell us that they want an evening program that reflects the home environment as much as possible,” said Lucy Groetsch, the center’s director. “Our program will not be heavy on structure and curriculum. . . [but] quiet, enjoyable and relaxing.” Information: (714) 432-5569.
