Re “Hacker Case Taps Into Fame, Fury,” April 27: Every time a system is hacked, a clear message is sent. Either a new security flaw has been discovered or, more commonly, the system administrators are negligent and haven’t installed the available defenses. Predictably, the Department of Defense wants countless millions to study its own incompetence. It’s a lesson the hackers offer for free.
