Newport Coast Among Topics for Council
An update on development along Newport Coast and a discussion about sharing maintenance costs are among the topics to be discussed Tuesday at the annual joint meeting between the City Council and the Laguna Beach Unified School District board.
The elected officials also plan to discuss future community programs, such as the possible development of a teen center and a skateboard park.
No action is expected, but Mayor Steve Dicterow said he is hopeful that the city will provide some financial assistance to the school district, which is recovering from a 1996 fiscal crisis.
Specifically, board members have suggested sharing expenses on school athletic fields, the municipal pool and other community facilities.
The 7 p.m. meeting will be in the school administration office, 550 Blumont St.
