‘Monster’ Gets Life Term for Attacks

Calling him a “dangerous monster,” a judge sentenced a man to life in prison without parole for an eight-day rape, robbery and murder binge in New York City in 1996. John Royster Jr., 23, opted not to apologize to his victims or their families. Royster was convicted on 11 charges, including the murder of a store owner, in attacks on the women from June 4 to 11, 1996.
