Erin Norton
El Modena, Senior; Softball/Pitcher
In addition to her strong pitching, Norton came up with some clutch hits to help the Vanguards win three games. Norton hit a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th and pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 1-0 victory over Edison. She hit a two-run triple and pitched a one-hitter against Santa Ana, 8-0, and shut out Western, 13-0.
Dana Bethel/Track and Field
* Mission Viejo, freshman. Long jumped 17 feet 11 inches to help the Diablos win the Division I team title at the Jack Bighead Relays.
Kate Ides/Basketball/Forward
* Brea Olinda, junior. Scored 14 points and played a key defensive role in a 51-32 victory over Redding Shasta in the state Division II final.
Colleen Young/Softball/Pitcher
* Irvine, senior. Won two games in the Laguna Hills tournament, including a 1-0, eight-inning shutout over Marina in the final.
