Entries for the county economic development association’s Excellence in Environmental Leadership Awards Program are being accepted through Friday.
Entries will be displayed during the Ventura County Economic Development Assn.’s annual Business Outlook Conference on April 24 at the Oxnard Hilton Inn. This year’s conference will address “The Three E’s of the New Millennium: Education, Environment and Economics.”
The association is also accepting reservations for attendees and exhibitors. Companies interested in promoting awareness of their business among the anticipated 200 attendees are invited to reserve exhibition space. Space is limited to 18 participants.
No entry fee is required to compete for the Environmental Leadership Awards. Categories for 1998 include major business/government, small/medium business and nonprofit organizations. Judging criteria include originality, innovation and performance, community value, economic considerations, complexity and leadership.
Entries must be from organizations or individuals with an active office or residence in Ventura County, but the projects may have been executed anywhere in the world. Entries comprise a 30-inch-square poster and a 500-word essay. They will be judged by a panel of environmental professionals.
For award entry details, call Kevin Gieschen at (805) 583-6422. For exhibition reservations, call (805) 988-1106.
