CYPRESS — Police arrested an Anaheim man Saturday afternoon after he allegedly hit another man in the head with a hammer during an argument over money in Cypress.
Joel Sellers, 30, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The 34-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with a head wound. His condition was not immediately known.
When police went to question Sellers at his home after the 11 a.m. attack, they say he tried to escape on foot. He was captured after a brief chase by Cypress and Anaheim police officers, said Cypress police spokesman Steven Ramsey.
