Investigators were trying to identify a man whose body was found floating down the Los Angeles River in Long Beach, coroner’s officials said Friday.
The body was discovered Thursday by firefighters who saw it as they drove across the Anaheim Street bridge. They called a lifeguard boat to pick up the body and alerted Long Beach police.
A preliminary autopsy by the coroner’s department Friday did not help identify the man, believed to be in his 50s. The cause of death has not been determined.
