Lawyer to Be Latest ‘Principal for a Day’
- Share via
Chief Assistant Dist. Atty. Kevin McGee will take off his lawyer’s hat Tuesday and become superintendent of Ventura County schools for a day as he follows the real one, Charles Weis, on his daily duties.
This will coincide with a county- and statewide activity in which business and community leaders become “Principal for a Day.”
So far, nearly a dozen lay people have offered to shadow a principal at one of Ventura County schools and spend the morning on campus.
“This is a hands-on opportunity for local business and community leaders to explore what is happening in today’s schools as they take on the role of school administrator for a day,” Weis said. “The purpose of the day is to give school leaders new perspectives and to offer community leaders new insights into the issues facing schools.”
