Tustin (4-0) got its second no-hitter in as many games Saturday night, this one bringing the Tillers the championship in the Newport Elks Tournament.
Tustin’s Danny Trujillo threw a no-hitter and went two-for-three with an RBI as the Tillers cruised to a 9-0 victory over Foothill (3-1). Trujillo’s effort came two days after Chad Chop pitched a no-hitter in the semifinals against Esperanza.
Trujillo hit two batters and walked four, but he was working with a nine-run cushion after three innings. He struck out five.
Todd Scott was three for five with three RBIs and Richard Lane added a three-run home run for Tustin.
