Montgomery Upsets No. 1 St. Francis

OAKLAND — Santa Rosa Montgomery upset top-ranked Mountain View St. Francis, 63-57, to win the Northern California Regional Division II boys’ basketball championship.
Montgomery (24-7) took a 17-13 first-quarter lead, but the Lancers (25-8) came back to take a 29-26 halftime advantage.
The lead changed hands six times in the fourth quarter. Montgomery’s Trevor Lorz scored seven of his 25 points in the last 1 minute 46 seconds. Cinque Carey finished with 29 points for St. Francis.
