Trade School Announces Scholarship Winners Today

The winners of a scholarship contest for outstanding trade school students from disadvantaged backgrounds will be announced today at a ceremony at Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
Two dozen students will be honored with the 1998 Tools for Success scholarship sponsored by Miller Brewing Co. Winners will be given a complete set of tools for their various trades. One teacher will also be honored.
The scholarships were started in 1992 to give disadvantaged students the opportunity to enter their chosen professions with high quality tools, organizers said.
