Hoover’s Herbert Sidelined With Groin Injury

Sophomore pitcher Cori Herbert of the Hoover High softball team suffered a groin injury a week ago during a lateral movement drill and reaggravated the injury while pitching in tournament games over the weekend.
Herbert, who had 246 strikeouts in 153 innings last season and led Hoover to a Pacific League title, has not practiced this week.
“I’m just going to rest her for a couple of weeks and see what happens,” Coach Kirt Kohlmeier said. “I really don’t have any other option. I want her ready for league [play].”
