Calderon’s Homer Sparks OCC Past Santa Ana

Bobby Calderon’s two-out home run in the 10th inning gave visiting Orange Coast an 8-7 victory over Santa Ana Tuesday in Orange Empire Conference baseball.
Orange Coast (9-8, 2-5) tied the score in the ninth on Chad Gonzalez’s sacrifice fly. Santa Ana took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh on Cory Williams’ three-run homer.
In other conference games:
Riverside 19, Golden West 14--Greg Dobbs had four hits, four RBIs and three runs scored for Riverside (15-4, 5-2). Jeff Bajanero had three hits and three RBIs for the Tigers.
Riverside scored nine runs in the eighth inning, six unearned.
Jeff Jones and Luis Santos each had three hits for Golden West (10-8, 3-4).
Saddleback 3, Cypress 2 (11 innings)--Nick Punto’s 11th-inning homer, his ninth of the season, won it for host Saddleback (13-5, 3-4). Saddleback’s Ryan Poe pitched nine innings, striking out nine and walking two. Cypress’ Jeff Schultz also went nine innings, striking out nine and walking one. Neither got a decision. Cypress is 11-8, 4-3.
