CHARLESTON, S.C. — The brother of the man wanted in the first fatal bombing of a U.S. abortion clinic has cut off one of his hands, the FBI said.
South Carolina television stations, citing police sources, reported that Daniel Rudolph videotaped himself Sunday intentionally severing a hand with a circular saw.
FBI and police officials refused to comment Monday on any details or motive.
Eric Rudolph, 31, is a suspect in the bombing Jan. 29 that killed an off-duty policeman and severely injured a nurse at the New Woman All Women Clinic in Birmingham, Ala.
The FBI said Daniel Rudolph is a self-employed carpenter but had few other details on him, including his age.
