LAGUNA BEACH — A 53-year-old schoolteacher was struck in a crosswalk and killed during the weekend, police said.
Claudia Flint, a Laguna Beach resident and home economics teacher at Thurston Middle School, died Saturday at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Ray Lardie said.
A day before, Flint suffered massive head injuries when she was struck by a 1969 Jeep driven by Allan Knoess, 38, of Laguna Beach, Lardie said.
The accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. when Flint was attempting to cross Glenneyre Street near Forest Avenue.
Lardie said an investigation is continuing and that police do not believe that the accident was alcohol-related.
