Tavares Finally Sees How Flimsy His Team Is
- Share via
I was encouraged by Tony Tavares’ most recent comments critical of the Mighty Ducks’ front office. Finally there may be the understanding that the performance on the ice is a direct reflection of the bigger picture: a general manager incapable of quality trades; a coach who is demonstrating skills exactly as his track record has proven and whom the players have clearly stopped playing for; and executive management that bungled a coaching change and negotiations with the team’s franchise player, sending signals throughout the league.
Could Disney finally be recognizing that the hockey team should be more than an entertainment and merchandising vehicle, and to win it takes a quality front office and commitment to being a first-class hockey organization?
