CASTAIC — A racial fight involving about 60 black and Latino inmates at the Pitchess Jail sent five inmates to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries Thursday, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Guards used pepper spray to break up the fight, which began about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and lasted about four minutes, said Deputy Cruz Solis. No guards were injured.
The cause of the fight is under investigation, but the conflict was clearly along racial lines, Solis said.
