Despite a light rain shower Thursday, Ventura County skies will be clearing for the weekend, according to weather forecasters.
“It looks like it’s going to be dry through Tuesday,” said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which supplies weather information to The Times. “There might be some gusty winds over the weekend, but it doesn’t look like any rain.”
Most areas of Ventura County had recorded less than one-quarter of an inch of rain by 8:30 p.m., with the Lake Casitas Recreation Area topping the list at a little more than half an inch, according to information from the Ventura County Flood Control District.
Showers were supposed to taper off by 4 a.m. today, with partly cloudy skies forecast for the rest of the day. Highs are expected to be in the mid-60s, with some wind gusts reaching 35 mph.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs again reaching the mid-60s, and Sunday will see partly cloudy skies with temperatures falling into the low 60s.
There may be isolated showers Sunday, but mainly north of Santa Barbara, Sherwin said.
