Time Is Adweek’s Hottest Magazine of 1997

Adweek has named its Top 10 hottest magazines of 1997, based on ad page and revenue gains, performance within a category, circulation gains, interviews with media buyers and its own editors’ judgment. Time topped the list, with a 21% increase in revenue and a 16% boost in ad pages. Martha Stewart Living came in second, with a 69% increase in revenue and a 40% rise in ad pages, while GQ followed with a 23% increase in revenue and 18% growth in ad pages. Rounding out the list by ranking were InStyle, Marie Claire, Vibe, W, Outside, Cooking Light and Men’s Health. In another category, Fitness was named the No. 1 hot up-and-comer, with ad revenue doubling over three years.
