Volunteers Planning Grad Night Party
Ten years ago, Los Alamitos High School’s first Grad Night began with a “Jamaica Me Crazy” theme and a pledge from organizers that the event would be free of drugs and alcohol.
It worked. The event has been so successful that it draws most senior class members in good standing. Volunteers plan the 10th anniversary, “Party Gras--A Decade of Fun,” for June 16.
Residents who wish to donate time and/or money to the project can meet the Grad Night Committee the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Los Alamitos High School Media Center, 3591 E. Cerritos Ave.
There also are workshops Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Los Alamitos Unified School District auxiliary lot off Reagan Street. There are no meetings planned for Thursday, March 23 or March 24.
For information, call Grad Night Chairwoman Pam Franchi at (562) 596-9326.
