Pedestrian Killed in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A man believed to be a transient was struck by a car and killed Sunday as he was crossing southbound Beach Boulevard, police said.
The accident occurred about 8 p.m. when the man tried to cross the street near Joliet Avenue, Police Lt. Larry Miller said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Miller said.
A section of Beach Boulevard was closed late Sunday night by traffic officers investigating the accident.
