JETHAWKS

The Modesto A’s scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning and defeated the JetHawks, 7-3, Friday in a California League game at The Hangar.

Anton French had three singles and Karl Thompson had two hits and a run batted in for the JetHawks (45-34), who trailed, 3-0, after five innings before getting two runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh.

Raul Rodarte’s home run in the eighth inning proved to be the winning run Friday night and the Reno Chuckars beat the Pacific Suns, 4-3, in a Western League game at Oxnard College.

Rodarte’s blast gave Reno (17-14) a 4-2 lead. Raul Osuna hit a home run in the ninth inning for the Suns (9-22).
