Santa Ana College Dean Wins Award
Sharon Whelan, Santa Ana College’s dean of the humanities and social sciences division, has been named Rancho Santiago Community College District’s first Manager of the Year.
Whelan, of Seal Beach, was selected for the award for her exemplary leadership.
Whelan was a founding member of the Assn. of Instructional Administrators, a statewide organization that aims to build a communications network to provide information and generate support for more effective performance.
Whelan has helped shape Santa Ana College’s leadership.
“Sharon is very deserving of this award,†district Chancellor Edward Hernandez said. “She is a role model for all who are involved in community college administration.â€
