Schola Pacifica, a 12-member all-male choir, will perform Gregorian chant at Mission San Juan Capistrano tonight as part of the Mission’s “Music Under the Stars” summer concert series.
The group drew 1,500 to a performance last summer, and is returning for an encore.
Schola Pacifica was founded in 1993 by Benedictine monk Karl Nielson. The group has performed in France, Los Angeles and San Diego, and has two CDs: “Best Loved Gregorian Chants” and “Anno Domini.” A third recording is to be released this fall.
Cost for tonight’s concert is $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and $8 for Mission Preservation Society members. Information: (949) 248-2048.
