Oxnard Couple Suspected of Selling Drugs
OXNARD — A couple has been arrested on suspicion of selling drugs after cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found inside their La Colonia house, police said Thursday.
Guillermina Mares, 35, and Fernando Perez, 25, were arrested about 8 p.m. Wednesday at their home in the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue in east Oxnard, Oxnard Police Sgt. Jana Young said.
Police have been investigating the couple about a month following several complaints of drug sales in the neighborhood, Young said. Police on Thursday did not know how much cocaine was seized.
Both Mares and Perez remained jailed Thursday night in lieu of $20,000 bail each. They were scheduled for arraignment today in Ventura County Municipal Court on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale, a jail deputy said.
