Belvedere Park
I was just about to pass up your column with the great photos headlined “Summer Splashdown†(June 23), until I noticed it was about my beloved Belvedere Park in East L.A., where my father taught me to swim. I grew up at Belvedere.
The toy loan, Pop Warner cheerleading, folklorico dancing for eight years with Mrs. Aguilar, the hot summer night we performed to the music of “The King and I†on that very pool deck some 35 years ago! Gee, I’m actually getting all teary-eyed. What memories!
