A 36-year-old Anaheim man remained in critical condition at UCI Medical Center Wednesday with head injuries after he tried to stop a hit-and-run driver Saturday. Police are asking the public for help in finding the driver.

Anthony Quaresimin had been driving a red Ford Mustang east on Lincoln Avenue near State College Boulevard when he collided with a red pickup truck that was turning out of a shopping center, according to Anaheim Police Investigator Rick Alexander.

The truck driver fled the scene of the crash and, as Quaresimin followed, drove about a quarter of a mile before stopping at a Jack-in-The-Box parking lot at State College and Center Street.

As Quaresimin approached the truck and reached in to grab the keys from the ignition, the driver accelerated. Quaresimin fell and hit his head on the asphalt, witnesses told police.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 765-1861.
