Tykes, bikes and helmets are welcome at the Oxnard fire and police departments’ Kids Summer Safety Training program on Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m.
The program, for children ages 3 to 13, will take place at the east parking lot of the Oxnard Centerpoint Mall, according to Oxnard fire inspector Dan Gildea.
At the event, children may test their safety skills and agility when riding a bicycle. Children with permission slips signed by their parents may participate as bike riders or pedestrians in an obstacle course.
There will also be a bicycle helmet sale and a drawing for a bicycle and discount coupons to Six Flags Magic Mountain. In addition, parents may get their bicycle child safety seats checked by fire officials.
