Missing Energy
“Funny energy,” “smooth stuff,” “quintessence” and “inconstant constant” are all terms that cosmologists use to describe the 65%-70% of the universe that is “something else,” according to “Missing Pieces of the Cosmic Puzzle” (June 15). It seems these same scientists cannot account for 99% of the matter in the universe nor 70% of its energy. Maybe the answer is not missing at all. They simply refuse to see it.
Though the energy books do not balance, the universe behaves as if it does. Astrophysicist Rocky Kolb explains, “The universe gives every sign of performing this balancing act.” He speaks as if the universe possesses intelligence and a will of its own. Maybe it does, or better yet, the one who created the universe does. Could it be that cosmologists are so fearful of the “G” word and acknowledging his existence that they are forced to concoct hackneyed theories to allow for their own bias? I find it takes less faith to believe in the God of the Bible than in evolution and their Big Bang theory.
