The American Red Cross is holding “Super CPR Saturday” today, when about 400 people will be trained in lifesaving skills to prepare for a safe summer.
“The idea is that the entire community will be trained in CPR so that in case of disaster, they’ll know what to do,” said Jean Ford, a volunteer with the program. CPR instructors from Red Cross chapters will be on hand offering adult and child CPR courses for $3 with phone registration or $5 at the door.
The three-hour courses, consisting of video instruction, mannequin practice and certification, will be held at the Little Company of Mary Hospital, Center for Health Education in Torrance.
Classes begin at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Call to register. Information: (310) 543-6760 or (800) 627-7000.
