McPherson Joins Disney TV Team
Stephen McPherson has been named executive vice president of network television at the Walt Disney Co., taking the No. 2 seat below Lloyd Braun, chairman of Buena Vista Television Productions.
McPherson, 33, previously was vice president of prime-time series at NBC, where he helped oversee the development and production of such programs as “Just Shoot Me†and “NewsRadio,†two comedies produced by Braun’s previous employer, Brillstein/Grey Entertainment.
Braun, who joined Disney this spring, is putting his own team in place after removing three top executives from his group last week, including David Neuman, president of network television.
