An Anaheim car dealership will expand onto an old gas station next door at Lincoln Avenue and Euclid Street.
The City Council recently approved plans by Anaheim Chevrolet to add 22,300 square feet for a sales lot. The dealership, which opened on Euclid in 1976, expanded in January to a nearby property formerly occupied by a Bob’s Big Boy restaurant.
Council members said the dealership’s expansions are welcome improvements in the area, part of a redevelopment zone.
Sherwood G. Oklejas, who bought the dealership in 1982, must still submit plans for landscaping, lighting and other details.
In a separate action, the council awarded a contract to Southland Construction of Anaheim for $136,400 to renovate the public pool at Pearson Park. Improvements include reconstructing the concrete decking and replacing plaster and tile.
The pool’s deck and surface have deteriorated and become a hazard, city officials said.
