Truck Leaves Scene After Hitting Garage
The driver of a sports utility vehicle and four passengers fled early Friday after the truck struck the garage of an Oxnard home, police said.
The vehicle skidded over a curb in the 1800 block of Gisler Avenue about 12:40 a.m., plunged through two chain-link fences between adjoining houses, uprooted a tree and then hit the garage, said Officer Robin Brunson.
Police later located three female passengers, all from Oxnard. The passengers, ranging in age from 12 to 20, suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. John’s Medical Center for treatment.
Police are continuing to seek two males from Oxnard who were also in the car. A damage estimate to the home was unavailable.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
