Police arrested a Moorpark man Tuesday on suspicion of briefly kidnapping his 19-year-old girlfriend and later trying to evade officers who sought to arrest him.
According to police accounts, Billy Gerald Bollar, 24, went to the woman’s house in the 4700 block of Walnut Street in Simi Valley at about 1:30 a.m. and physically forced her into his car.
Bollar is accused of then driving the woman, whom police did not identify, around Simi Valley and surrounding rural areas for half an hour. Bollar then returned to the girlfriend’s house, where she devised a ruse to go inside her home, where she called police, said Simi Valley Sgt. Bob Gardner.
Police said that when they arrived at the house, Bollar sped off, leading them on a chase into Moorpark. Bollar was arrested in Moorpark and later booked on suspicion of evading police and kidnapping.
Bollar remained in the Ventura County Jail late Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear Thursday in court.
