The discovery and ultimate acceptance of chronic illness and disability is nicely portrayed in this sweet movie starring Robert Carlyle of “The Full Monty� fame. Carlyle plays a Scotsman living in England who, shortly after falling in love, begins to have symptoms that eventually lead to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

Despite the difficulty of listening to the thick accents of the actors, the movie beautifully depicts the struggle of a young man who is devastated by illness in the prime of his life. Equally touching is the story of how a couple can deal with illness in the context of their relationship.
