Seventy-five firefighters from five agencies worked for more than four hours Tuesday to put out a blaze in an apartment building, officials said.
All apartments in the six-unit building at 400 S. Beach Blvd. were damaged, officials said, one heavily.
Thirteen adults and three children were displaced by the blaze, said Barbara Jackson, spokeswoman for the American Red Cross, which provided emergency shelter and meals for them.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Tuesday night, Police Sgt. Cy Cuen said, but there were no indications that it started under suspicious circumstances.
