The Sheriff’s Department will receive 22 laptop computers from the state’s Office of Criminal Justice Planning, a spokeswoman for Justice Planning said Tuesday.
The computers, valued at $54,000, come from the state’s Counter Drug Procurement Program, which provides surplus military equipment to law enforcement agencies, said spokeswoman Suzanne Miller.
Sheriff’s Department officers will use the computers to write up reports in the field, Miller said.
