Amgen Gives Executive Added Responsibility

Amgen has named senior vice president, general counsel and secretary George A. Vandeman to the additional post of senior vice president for corporate development, responsible for merger and acquisition activity.
Vandeman is a specialist in mergers and acquisitions, having headed that department at the international law firm of Latham & Watkins for many years before joining Amgen, a Thousand Oaks biotechnology company, in 1995.
He succeeds Robert S. Attiyeh, who retired June 30.
