SMALL FACES: The Cure’s Robert Smith has joined the soundtrack for “Orgasmo,” the live-action movie coming from the “South Park” duo Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Smith’s doing a new song called “Hand of God,” which in the movie is credited to a group named Cogasm. Additionally, the Dust Brothers, who are supervising the project’s music and releasing the album through their Nickelbag Records, have teamed with rapper KRS-One for a new track. . . .

Depeche Mode is in New York to shoot a video for “Only When I Lose Myself,” one of two new tracks that will be on the two-CD “Singles ‘86-’98” anthology, due Oct. 6. The band will start its first tour in more than five years--and first since the nearly fatal 1996 drug overdose of singer David Gahan--in Europe in September, with U.S. dates beginning in late October and L.A. shows expected in mid-December. . . .

Henry Rollins--currently heard in the “War” collaboration with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on the “Small Soldiers” soundtrack--has two spoken-word releases due Sept. 8--an album titled “Think Tank” and a home video of an El Rey Theatre performance called “You Saw Me Up There.” Rollins is also acting in the coming Michael Keaton film “Frost.” . . .

Robyn Hitchcock, Ron Sexsmith and Joe Henry each wrote three songs that will be performed by actor Guy Pearce (“L.A. Confidential”), when he plays a singer named Drumsticks Casey in an upcoming indie film, “Slipping Down Life.” Henry, who produced the tracks, is also working on his own album with T Bone Burnett producing, Daniel Lanois mixing a couple of songs and Jakob Dylan appearing on one tune.
