Weekend Festival Will Celebrate African Unity

Africa is coming to town this weekend, when the city presents dancers, musicians, food and children’s stories from the continent at a two-day festival celebrating African unity.
Five African ambassadors will open the event, which is being co-hosted by the city and Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke.
The celebrations will be held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Compton Auto Plaza, 203 Auto Drive South. Admission is free. Information: (310) 762-1541.
