Car-Tax Cut
Gov. Pete Wilson wants a car-tax cut. This may stimulate automobile sales beyond the current record pace. Meanwhile, federal and local governments are spending billions of dollars for subways and light rails in order to take cars off the streets.
I think a sales-tax cut would stimulate all market segments and do more for California’s economy than would increased car sales. The sales-tax cut can be renewed yearly with the state budget projections.
