* The 18th Annual Jewish Film Festival, today-Aug. 3, presents films and videos from around the globe, including Roger Hanen’s “Soleil,” set in WWII Algeria and starring Sophia Loren, below left. With “Israeli Cinema Now” and “Gay/Jewish Identity” programs, the festival will showcase the diversity of Jewish culture with special screenings, seminars, events and filmmaker appearances.
