Big Name for BuyComp

BuyComp LLC, a 2-year-old retailer of computer products on the Internet, has added another corporate heavyweight to its board of directors.
The Aliso Viejo-based company said Tuesday that John Sculley, former chief executive of Apple Computer, has joined the board.
Other board members are Donald M. Kendall, former chairman and chief executive of PepsiCo Inc.; Charles Richion, former director of U.S. sales at Hewlett-Packard Co.; James B. Roszak, former president of Transamerica Life Cos., and Wayne Thorson, president of Thorson Industries. BuyComp founder and president Scott Blum also is on the board.
