The San Diego Museum of Man plans to give new life to a dead subject with its “Mysteries of the Mummies” exhibit, opening Monday through May 16, 1999.
On display--and perhaps not for the faint of heart--will be a dozen human mummies from Egypt, Mexico and Peru; five animal mummies; 10 shrunken heads; more than 100 skulls; and more than 100 eternal artifacts such as amulets, tomb figurines and embalming instruments.
The museum, open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, is in Balboa Park. Admission is $5 adults, $3 children 6 to 17, free for kids under 6. Information: (619) 239-2001.
