The Cleveland Indians have fired Lee MacPhail as scouting director and offered him another position, General Manager John Hart said.
MacPhail, 28, the fourth generation in a tradition-rich baseball family, has not notified the club if he will accept the reassignment.
Assistant scouting director Josh Byrnes will be MacPhail’s interim replacement.
