Lepak Moves Into the Lead at Tournament of Champions
John Lepak of La Habra Heights shot a par 72 to take the lead in the third round of the American Junior Golf Assn. Tournament of Champions Thursday on Coto de Caza’s north course.
Lepak enters today’s final round at 209, a shot ahead of Kris Mikkelsen of Woodstock, Ga. John Ray Leary of Culver City, the second-round leader, shot 79 and is at 215. Tustin’s Nick Seymour is eight back.
Nico Bollini of Yorba Linda shot one-over 73 on Torrey Pines’ south course and moved to three shots of the lead in the boys’ 15-17 division of the Junior World Championships. Taro Hiroi of Japan leads at 213. Ronald Won of Irvine is at 217.
Andrew Anderson (boys’ 14-15) of Huntington Beach, Seiko Onoue (girls’ 12-14) of Buena Park and Kimberly Punyasavatsut (girls’ 11-under) of Anaheim won divisions of the Crosby Memorial Junior Golf tournament at Recreation Park in Long Beach.
