The Heritage Institute at Loyola Marymount University is offering cultural enrichment and leadership programs for youth during August.
“We need to make our society more culturally accepting,” said Arletha Livingston, professor of African American studies at the university and director of the programs. “The goal is to pass on the cultural heritage to the youth of this society.”
The Heritage Academy Summer Cultural Enrichment Program is designed to give children ages 4 to 11 a better understanding of African American culture, as well as classes in math, science, art and music.
