City officials on Monday announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the prosecution of the killer of a 20-year-old man whose decomposing body was found in the trunk of his car.
Benjamin Smith’s body was discovered June 5 in the 1600 block of South Beverly Glen Boulevard, said Det. Bruce Oakley of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau homicide division.
Police said they believe Smith, found in the trunk of his green Honda Del Sol, had been dead about two weeks.
City Councilman Mike Feuer, who represents the area, said police believe there are people with “important information about how Benjamin’s life ended.” Anyone with information is asked to call police at (310) 575-8408 or (213) 485-2504.
