EOS Corp. Expands Its Asian Operations
EOS Corp., a maker of AC / DC power supplies, has expanded its operations in Asia with the opening of an office in Taiwan and alliances with two major distributors to accelerate product sales throughout the region.
The Camarillo-based EOS opened a business development, field engineering and customer support office in Taipei, Taiwan. The office will support new and existing EOS customers in Taiwan and serve as the headquarters for business expansion in the Pacific Rim. The company expects to more than double its business in Asia during 1998 compared to last year.
The company also signed agreements with two Asian-based trading and distribution companies, which will market and sell EOS external power adapters and internal power supplies to electronics manufacturers in the region.
Tokyo-based Marubun Corp. will sell EOS products in Japan to original equipment manufacturers, including computer peripheral makers, mobile / laptop computer firms and producers of data networking equipment.
ACA Pacific, based in Singapore, will market and sell EOS products to manufacturers in mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
The Taiwan office will report to Brian McConnell, an EOS vice president. McConnell, who has more than 20 years’ experience in international sales of high-tech products, is leading EOS’ expansion in the Pacific Rim, as well as in Europe and South America.
